Jeffrey Khaner

Flutist Jeffrey Khaner was born in Montreal, Canada. He has been principal flute of the Philadelphia Orchestra since 1990 and was previously principal flute with the Cleveland Orchestra. He has performed numerous concertos ranging from Bach and Mozart to Nielsen, Ibert, and Corigliano, as well as premieres by Hans Werner Henze, Ned Rorem, and many others. Khaner has many solo albums on the Avie, Chesky, and Naxos labels. He has been a faculty member at the Curtis Institute since 1985. He is a teacher and clinician with the Solti Orchestral Project at Carnegie Hall, the New World Symphony, Hamamatsu Festival, Grand Teton Festival, Sarasota Music Festival, and Pacific Music Festival. He received his bachelor’s degree from The Juilliard School and studied with Julius Baker. Khaner has been a Juilliard faculty member since 2004.
